Director of CEEP joins the Global conversations at AEE World (Energy Conference & Expo).

The Centre proudly announces that Professor Olawale Popoola, the Director of CEEP at Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa, delivered a presentation at the World Energy Engineering Congress & Conference/Expo on September 17-19, 2025 in Atlanta, USA, under the theme ‘’ Proficient Estimation for Energy Provision based on Identification/Assessment of Disrupter(s) Using Computational Modelling’’.

During his presentation, Prof. Popoola underscored the importance of identifying hidden challenges called ‘Disrupters’, the elements that have been underexplored despite the fact that they limit fair and efficient energy use.

He further emphasized that the power supply sector has been thriving over the years, however, still encounters technical challenges such as, supply-demand gap, interruptions, equipment malfunctions, rising costs (tariffs), etc. Emphasis is placed on clean energy sources without any intensity or reduced intensity (utilization) of the available resources (conventional energy source). Additionally, inadequate quantification of energy usage arising from different strategies relative to supply and demand at time-of-use being based on assumptions rather than measured observations is at the root of utilization.

Centre for Energy and Electric Power remains committed to building international collaboration and keeping abreast with latest trends in the industry.
